WRIGLEYVILLE — Forget about the turkey and Christmas ham, there’s a new way to celebrate the holiday season: eating a juicy burger made of reindeer meat.
The Butcher’s Tap, 3553 N. Southport Ave., claims that nothing is more festive than its Rudolph Burger, made with Northern reindeer, cheddar, tempura jalapenos and topped with a tomato-and-bacon puree “nose.”

It’s made with Michigan farm-raised reindeer, cheddar, tempura jalapeños and a dollop of housemade tomato-and-bacon puree that bears a striking resemblance to a red nose. The most disturbing part of this news: Santa’s reindeer are raised in Michigan.

Chicagoist-‘The Rudolph,’ Is On The Menu In Lakeview
The Butcher’s Tap in Lakeview is getting into the holiday spirit by putting a burger made of actual reindeer meat on the menu this month.
“There’s nothing more festive than enjoying some delicious reindeer,” the Southport Corridor restaurant and bar announced on Facebook Thursday. The burger’s ingredients include Northern reindeer, cooked medium rare, 1-year aged cheddar from a Wisconsin farm, tempura jalapeños, and a house-made tomato and bacon puree.
